U.S. Olympic Equestrian Team

Sometime back in the mid- or late-1960s Jack Shore was in Chicago and invited me to a reception in the Loop for the U.S. Olympic Equestrian Team. If I recall correctly, Jack was with Merck at that time.

He introduced me to the team's captain. I wish I remembered his name. I do recall that he was tall, very tall.

Someone nearby asked him what it was like to be on a tall hall and go over a 6-foot-plus jump.

He answered, "A lot better than not to go over it!"
